PDF is the universal document format: it preserves layout, fonts, and graphics exactly, on any device. Nearly every platform can display one.

Frequently asked questions

Is my document uploaded for OCR?

No — and this is unusual. Almost every OCR service uploads your document to their servers. Morphixel runs the recognition engine inside your browser, so a scan of your passport, contract or bank statement never leaves your device.

How accurate is it?

It handles clear, straight scans of printed text very well. Low-resolution, skewed, or handwritten pages are much harder — a cleaner scan makes a big difference.

Why does the first run take a moment?

The recognition engine and English language data (about 23 MB) download once, then are cached for future use. After that it starts instantly, even offline.

Which languages are supported?

English today. More languages are being added — each one is an extra download only if you need it.
